The CAN-SPAM Act of 2003 is a commonly used name for the United States
Federal law more formally known as S. 877 or the "Controlling the Assault of
Non-Solicited Pornography and Marketing Act of 2003."
The Can Spam Act requires that businesses:
Clearly label commercial e-mail as advertising,
Use a truthful and relevant subject line,
Use a legitimate return e-mail address,
Provide a valid physical address,
Provide a working opt-out option, and
Process opt-out requests within ten business days.
Where does DNEList fit?
In order for email marketers to comply with the CAN-SPAM
Act, unsubscribe requests generated from both in house and
third party mailings must be actively managed; which is an
enormous challenge.
Launched in January 2004, DNEList was the first professional
online service geared towards helping email marketers adhere
to these new regulations.
DNEList captures opt-out requests via an affiliate-specific
unsubscribe link or email inbox, and also provides an
interface that enables email marketers to share these
"suppression" lists with all of their marketing parters.
